What we need is a creative thinking which leads us to the unexpected and positive solutions because it is hard to find ‘a right answer’ in today’s world. This is why Bond-BBT MBA takes ‘business planning’ very seriously. Because this is the skill which allows our students to apply what they have learned and put those learnings together. Dr. Kenichi Ohmae, Ph.D. is the Chairman of Business Breakthrough, Inc.
For a period of 23 years, Dr. Ohmae was a partner in McKinsey & Company, Inc., the international management consulting firm. He co-founded the firm’s strategic management practice.
Dr. Ohmae has published over 100 books, including The Mind of the Strategist, Triad Power, Beyond National Borders, The Borderless World, The End of the Nation State and The Evolving Global Economy. He also contributed numerous articles to major publications — The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Foreign Affairs and The New York Times.
Dr. Ohmae attended Waseda University (BS), the Tokyo Institute of Technology (MS) — and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering).

The program creates a synergistic effect of the global perspective in corporate management and the perspective seen from Japan. Based on global management theories presented by Bond University's leading academics, students are also taught by BBT lecturers who are often business practitioners and who study the common ground and differences in the actual management of Japanese and global corporations. This allows students to bridge theory and practice and acquire management skills useful in actual professional practice. The intended learning outcomes are centered on the three pillars of innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership, developing graduates who can think creatively and strategically in this context. Students work on a capstone project as a compilation of studies to develop a business plan (new business) and make a presentation by integrating their acquired knowledge and skills.

The program is intensive with subjects rolling out successively, to enable you to complete the MBA in approximately 2 years. Those wishing to complete the MBA less intensively have the option of planning their study schedule, deferring subjects to suit their peak and off peak work commitments. The MBA can therefore be progressively completed between 3 to 5 years.

By integrating video lecture, discussion, and collaboration functions, the platform offers excellent social learning opportunities where the instructor and fellow students inspire each other. The study tour involves students studying on the campus of Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia for one week per tour. Students take part in study tours at least twice in order to complete the course. The study tour offers subjects that effectively develop skills in leadership and team-building in real time. Through discussions and collaborative projects often including on-campus students in a team setting, students can further develop true comprehensive strengths. In addition, a number of fellow students who normally learn distantly join from all over the world and interact with each other to further expand their networks.
